Each year, National Water Week makes a splash across Australia inspiring individuals, communities and organisations to build awareness around the value of water. Access to clean water is hugely important to our daily lives, and it’s down to all of us to protect our water environments and resources, and use water wisely.
Held on the third week of October each year and a theme is set for the week by the Australian Water Association. This year’s theme for National Water Week is “United by Water”.
The poster competition is open to all early years/preschool and primary school students across our service region.
To celebrate National Water Week, we invite students to share how water unites them through hand drawn or digital posters.
We are utilising an online platform, LaunchPad for ease of uploading posters.
The competition is open to the following five categories:
- Early years/preschool
- Prep
- Grade 1&2
- Grade 3&4
- Grade 5&6
There are local prizes up for grabs for the winner and two runners-up in each category.
The winning entries in each category of the local competition will be entered into the state level of the competition. The winners of the state level will be determined by the Victorian Water Educators Network and prizes will be funded by DEECA.
The competition is now open and will close on Friday 1 September 2023 at midnight. Local winners will be announced on Monday 16 October and state winners will be announced during National Water Week (16 – 22 October 2023).
Head to nationalwaterweek.com.au and find Lower Murray Water’s competition to submit your poster.
