Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing water services to urban and rural customers along the Murray River, from  Wemba-Wemba Land (Kerang) through to Latji Latji Land (South Australian border).  With just over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, we are responsible for servicing around 80,000 customers.

 

We are looking for an Engineer with experience in Asset Management to join our Infrastructure Planning Team that delivers a wide range of technical services. You will take pride in applying your technical knowledge, brand of engineering, and inter-personal skills in your work and sharing with others within the team.

About the role:

As an Asset Engineer, you will hold a vital role in the Infrastructure Planning team. You will be involved in the planning and asset management activities including developing and reviewing the strategies, asset performance and condition, monitoring and reporting, and preparation of asset maintenance schedules.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with infrastructure planning activities with particular focus on the asset lifecycle management.
  • Assisting with implementation of the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) in a manner which delivers real benefits for LMW.
  • Assisting with development and implementation of key asset management policies and processes in accordance with the AMAF and in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting with development of asset management/class plans for the remaining asset classes as per their priority.
  • Developing and reviewing preventive asset maintenance programs.
  • Developing asset renewal/replacement models and programs.
  • Support in the development of long- and short-term asset maintenance
  • Providing engineering support in identifying solutions to operational issues through analysis and collaboration.

About you:

You will bring your knowledge in engineering and asset management as well as your interpersonal skills to bring positive outcomes resulting in the delivery of safe drinking water, rural water and wastewater services. With a strong customer focus, we will welcome your forward thinking and innovative technical solutions as well as an eye for detail.

 

We are looking for applicants with a tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline and demonstrated ability to learn and be effective. Industry experience particularly in Asset Management is preferable.

We have an exciting permanent position available as a Farmhand looking to start or continue their career within a role that offers both a healthy work/life balance and ongoing career development.

 

This position is unique in that it will allow you to take the first step into a profession in agriculture while allowing you to gain a good grounding for a career in wastewater or water treatment.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Leading Hand Re Use Farm, this ‘hands on’ role will be responsible for the safe operation of the Mildura Re Use Farm. Prior Horticultural experience is desirable however, not essential. Within this role, you will participate in a safety first, customer focused culture within the team and as part of the strategic focus for LMW.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver LMW’s livestock quality improvement program including; Crutching and drenching sheep, shearing sheep, monitoring sheep during lambing season, marking lambs, vaccinating sheep and lambs, organising lamb and sheep sales when market ready
  • Provide support to the treatment plant team on assisting running Mildura Water Waste Treatment Plan as required including routine plant checks, lab testing, monitoring and interoperating SCADA including trends producing compliant effluent quality
  • Engage support from Operations teams and contractors on mechanical and electrical equipment, pumps, channels and pipework of the reuse systems with oversight to operational and maintenance plans.
