Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing water services to urban and rural customers along the Murray River, from Wemba-Wemba Land (Kerang) through to Latji Latji Land (South Australian border).  With just over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, we are responsible for servicing around 80,000 customers.

 

Are you a finance specialist and looking for a new opportunity in 2023?  LMW has an opportunity for a finance specialist to lead a small team and the provision of regulation accounting and budget reporting services.  Initially this is a 3–4-month assignment with the possibility of converting to a permanent position.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the General Manager Business Services and Performance, this role will provide efficient and effective leadership and management of LMW’s accounting and corporate support functions (including regulation) through a team of specialists to ensure the effective, efficient and compliant provision of services to support stakeholders in alignment with the business and strategic objectives of the organisation.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the appropriate business groups to ensure service and reporting requirements are managed for core business service functions
  • Working collaboratively with the Manager Financial Services to deliver Board and Executive financial reporting
  • Support the GMBS&P to deliver strong planning and forecasting functions to facilitate financial management.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans, including the five-year water plans and resultant Corporate Plan.

 

Manage relationships with Essential Services Commission Price Monitoring and Regulation division to ensure LMW is compliant and reports timing financial and performance reports.

About you:

We require an experienced and engaging finance professional who is proficient in financial management and has experience in contributing to the development, implementation and review of financial policies, procedures and internal controls that support the achievement of business objectives.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience or the enthusiasm to learn:

  • Tertiary qualification in a finance/commerce related discipline or demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Champions Finance management performance reporting and leverages influencing and negotiation skills to embed change management culture.
  • Ability to provide written communication in a highly professional manner that will be acceptable at a Board level.
  • Develops meaningful, trusted and collaborative relationships with staff at all levels.

We are looking for a motivated and team orientated person to lead our Control Systems Team, providing support and supervision to a small team responsible for the corporations control systems support and SCADA systems performance to support our customers and region to prosper.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager Information Communication and Technology, the Team Leader Control Systems is responsible for the corporations SCADA strategy, SCADA performance, control systems support including associated project development, management, and support, to allow agreed customer outcomes to be delivered, by managing the control systems team.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Own and drive the ongoing review and development of corporation’s internal frameworks, processes, standards, documentation, and strategies that support the SCADA applications and control systems platforms in the corporations OT and IT environments.
  • Ensure the corporation’s SCADA and Control Systems internal frameworks, processes, standards, documentation, and strategies:
    • reflect a practical balance between industry best practice and the corporation’s requirements.
    • are based on knowledge of underlying risks required to be addressed and the corporations risk appetite.
  • Ensure the corporation’s SCADA and Control Systems requests are processed in a timely manner to ensure compliance with internal expectations and compliance obligations are met.
  • Ensure the corporation’s SCADA systems performance.
  • Provide technical support for the corporations control system support to operation and project teams.

  • Experience in project delivery, particularly automation upgrades
