Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing water services to urban and rural customers along the Murray River, from Koondrook to the South Australian border.  With just over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, we are responsible for servicing around 80,000 customers.

 

We are looking for a dependable and team orientated person to join our Civil Maintenance Team to provide onsite support and supervision to a small team responsible for the efficient delivery of civil maintenance and construction to support our customers and region to prosper.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Team Leader Civil, this ‘hands on’ role will work within a team and supervise the safe construction and maintenance of civil assets across LMW’s irrigation, drainage, potable water and sewer systems.

The Leading Hand Civil Maintenance will lead by example and continue to drive a safety first, customer focused culture within the team and as part of the strategic focus for LMW.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate efficient and reliable construction and maintenance of civil maintenance assets including potable water, sewer, irrigation and drainage infrastructure
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition
  • Undertake day to day planning and supervision of staff and contractors, contributing to a positive team culture
  • Always represent LMW professionally
  • Being flexible with availability and hours, overtime and out-of-hours work will be required, as will forming part of an on call roster

About you:

As an Engineering Officer for LMW, you will hold a rewarding role in the Projects team to assist in the management of key infrastructure. You will derive a great sense of satisfaction in assisting in the delivery of projects to ensure sustainable and safe water services for our community. You will work in a supportive group environment, including fellow project team members, and work closely with the Operations team to scope, design and deliver projects utilising both internal and external resources.

About the role:

As an Engineering Officer, you will work as part of the Projects team within the Infrastructure Services team of LMW. You will aid the development and execution of LMW’s Capital Works programs to ensure efficient and effective delivery for on time project completion. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing projects and tasks safely to scope, budget and time, to within the specifications and design requirements.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation, review and implementation of contract management documentation
  • Effective management of contractors during project delivery in accordance with LMW contractor management procedures
  • Contributing to a positive team culture
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to quality specifications and to budget

About you:

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Corporate Facilities & Maintenance Officer to support the development of a centralised facilities and maintenance function within our organisation.

About the role:

Sitting within the Organisational Performance department, this newly developed role will become an integral part of the recently formed Corporate Services Team, which will provide a centralised service to the organisation’s internal customers across the functions of legal, insurance, and corporate reporting as well as facilities and building contract management.

 

Ideally, you will be working from our Mildura Office and will bring to the role your ability to engage collaboratively with teams across the business to coordinate the day-to-day management of building and facilities maintenance activity including procurement, project management and stakeholder liaison with contractors and suppliers.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day management of building and facilities maintenance and repairs to ensure assets are maintained in a safe condition.
  • Contractor and supplier management across scheduled and project works, including the monitoring of procurement and compliance.
  • Development of systems, processes, and procedures that enable a centralised buildings and facilities maintenance function

About you:

You will be experienced in buildings and facilities management and/or project management and will have a strong ability to pull together and streamline systems to create more effective ways of operating. We are recruiting for a Trainee in Certificate III in Business to join our Rural Customer Team where you will be learning from and supporting the team responsible for delivering a range of customer services to our rural customers. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate customer orientated person to start your water career and be mentored by a team of professionals with extensive experience in leadership and the water industry.  This role is a fulltime up to two year contract and national traineeship wages and conditions apply.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Team Leader Rural Customers, this new role will work within a multi skilled team and will learn a wide variety of skills to support our Rural Customer Service functions such as water licencing, water trading, change of ownerships and hydraulic analysis.  Prior water industry experience is not required however we are looking for a motivated individual looking to build a career in the industry.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Learning and developing skills relating to the technical requirements of water licencing, water etntitlements and trading.
  • Supporting team members and liaising with customers and members of the public

About the role:

Sitting within the Organisational Performance department, this role is an integral part of the Governance Team which exists to ensure that LMW’s records management, risk management, policy, compliance, and governance frameworks are integrated across the business providing assurance to the Board and the Executive Team and fostering a culture of good governance.

The Administration Officer will monitor Statutory Referrals from Councils ensuring responses are provided within statutory timeframes and is responsible for the administration of the Lower Murray Water Backflow Prevention Register.

About Lower Murray Water

Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority was created under the provisions of the Water Act 1989 via Order in Council effective 1st of July 2004. It assumed the whole of the property, rights, liabilities, obligations, powers and functions under the Water Act 1989 of the Lower Murray Region Water Authority and Sunraysia Rural Water Authority. LMW reports to the Minister for Water, Environment & Climate Change Ms Lisa Neville.

The Water (Governance Act) 2006 varied the form and title of Lower Murray Water and established new governance arrangements effective from 1st July 2007. Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority is now Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation.

On 19th August 2008 a Ministerial Determination under Section 87 of the Water Act 1989, appointed Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation to take over the whole of the functions, powers and duties of First Mildura Irrigation Trust under the Act, including its functions in respect of all of its districts under the Act.

Our core business is to meet the present and future needs of our customers and community by providing reliable and secure water services.

Our area of operation extends from Kerang to the South Australian border taking in the municipalities of Mildura, Swan Hill and Gannawarra. We provide the region with urban water and wastewater services, treatment and effluent disposal services, river quality water to stock and irrigation customers, along with the collection and disposal of subsurface irrigation drainage water.
