Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing water services to urban and rural customers along the Murray River, from Koondrook to the South Australian border.  With just over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, we are responsible for servicing around 80,000 customers.

 

We are looking for a dependable and team orientated person to join our Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Project Team, providing financial support to the project team as the project progresses towards the construction phase to deliver significant benefits to our region.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Program Services, you will play a key role in performing financial functions in the areas of accounting, financial management, and systems and processes. The role will also be a key interface between members of the project team and the financial team to ensure financial processes for the project are in accordance with governance requirements.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the project finances including timely and accurate preparation of reconciliations, reports and management analysis and annual financial statements.
  • Support the project team with financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Work closely with the LMW Corporate financial services team to ensure alignment with LMW financial structure and reports.
  • Assist with timely and accurate preparation of project budgets and reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial Board reports.
  • Prepare and present financial reporting as required by Management.
  • Manage accounting for assets in line with accounting standards and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee debtors, creditors and accounting processes ensuring these processes maximise financial outcomes.
  • Promote management accounting practices to support decision making and achieve business growth and development.

About you:

We require a self-motivated person who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and shares the team’s passion of committing and contributing to achieving success for the Victorian Murray Floodplain Project. To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Appropriately qualified with academic degree(s) or diploma(s) in Accounting and 3 years relevant work experience or extensive relevant experience in a medium/large sized organisation.
  • Substantial experience and detailed practical knowledge in financial management, reconciliations, sundry debtors, processing of General Ledger functions and Month/Year End functions.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance legislation, codes and other relevant legal instruments and ability to provide specialised compliance and regulatory governance advice.
  • A high level of written, oral communication and computing skills, and the ability to manage and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise work to satisfy organisational / project objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgetary processes and generation of month end budget reports.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Must have the right to work in Australia.

We are seeking a self-motivated Compliance Monitoring Officer with an inquisitive mindset, to join our irrigation service delivery team to assist investigate and identify improvements in service outcomes for our rural customers and support our region.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Team Leader Irrigation Delivery, you will utilise existing data and help develop effective reports that measure level of service to our customers and recognise improvements or faults within our irrigation systems.

 

You will form positive relationships with irrigation customers and other stakeholders, through timely support and customer education to ensure fair and equitable access to their rural water through our irrigation ordering system.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support a positive team culture through good communication skills
  • Analyse data and identify service improvements within the irrigation networks and/or with individual customers
  • Contribute to the development of effective reports to identify customer service level issues
  • Maintain and foster customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Always represent LMW in a professional manner
  • Assist the team in delivery share implementation and ways to improve system operation
  • Monitor, analyse and report customer and system compliance to improve LMW irrigation system efficiencies

About you:

You are a self-motivated person who is willing to learn, outcome oriented and is great at developing relationships through a positive outlook, and have high emotional intelligence.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll provide insights for data collection, and interact with our customers and stakeholders on a delivery share management system and how compliance is key to the successful implementation.

The following requirements are:

  • Experience in analysing data and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with internal staff and external customers through education and support
  • Understanding of irrigation systems and horticulture is desirable, but not essential.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft suite and flexibility to learn other programs
  • Willingness to form part of an on-call team roster
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Must have the right to work in Australia

We are seeking a solution and results focused Team Leader to monitor and facilitate water compliance. Reporting to and working with, the Manager Organisational Performance, you will proactively educate and support our customers, whilst managing compliance investigations and prosecutions for LMW for breaches within the Water Act 1989.

About the role:

Working as a member of the Organisational Performance team, your ability to proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders and develop positive relationships that support LMW to achieve strategic initiatives will be an advantage. Dealing with a diverse range of external stakeholders from Government department representatives to customers as well as various internal departments, you will have excellent skills in managing difficult conversations on a daily basis.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead a small team in an engaging, collaborative and proactive manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support the team.
  • Facilitate enforcement of applicable water use policies.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Compliance Strategies.
  • Manage statutory reporting.
