Connect fire services

Apply to connect fire services to your property.

Before connecting fire services, fire-service hydraulics specialists use a pressure and flow test to determine the appropriate tapping size.

It is the property owner’s responsibility to maintain all fire services. Lower Murray Water is not responsible for private fire services.

How to apply

Fire service connections should be designed by an independent fire-service hydraulics specialist. Developers or property owners can then submit a fire service application with us.

You will need to include a site plan with your application.

To submit your application, email it to property.services@lmw.vic.gov.au

Applications take around 10 business days to process.

Fees and charges

There is no application fee.

The cost of a fire service connection will depend on the tapping size and the size and type of water main it’s being connected to. See Rural and urban tariffs and charges.
