Lower Murray Water (LMW) is pleased to announce that at its June Board meeting, the Board formally appointed seven new committee members to the Strategic Advisory Committee (SAC). These new members will play a crucial role in providing advice on our strategies, policies, and infrastructure projects.

The SAC collaborates closely with LMW to provide valuable insights and advice from a rural customer’s perspective. Their input directly influences key decisions related to water management, infrastructure, strategy and policy development. As an integral part of our customer engagement process, the SAC ensures that customer voices are heard and considered.

Allow me to introduce the seven members who have joined the SAC:

  • Robert Albanese
    Robinvale Irrigation District
  • Stephen Bennett
    Merbein Irrigation District
  • Kim Chalmers
    Merbein Irrigation District
  • James Campbell
    Private Diverters
  • Anthony Spiers
    Private Diverters
  • Domenico Capogreco
    First Mildura Irrigation District
  • Lindsay Harmer
    Millewa Waterworks District

These individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from across the agricultural sector. Their backgrounds span almond, dried fruit, wine grape, table grape and broadacre sectors. Importantly, they represent both the LMW pumped irrigation districts, Millewa waterworks and private diversion areas. We eagerly anticipate harnessing this diverse skill base to enhance our decision-making processes.

LMW remains committed to fostering positive relationships with our valued customers. The SAC’s appointment underscores our dedication to collaboration, and continuous improvement. We believe that by working together, we can achieve better outcomes for both our organisation and our customers.

Some vacancies still exist within the SAC and the LMW Customer Service Advisory Committees. We would welcome Expressions of Interest from rural customers wishing to make a positive contribution to the region.

Information about our committees and application process can be found on our website at Customer committees – Lower Murray Water (lmw.vic.gov.au) or by calling David Zacher on 0477 561 187.
