About the role

Lead the sustainable operation of Lower Murray Water’s farming enterprise. Manage land and livestock, ensure EPA compliance, and drive best practices in recycled water use and pasture care. Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver efficient, environmentally positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the sustainable application of recycled water for irrigation in accordance with EPA Regulations.
  • Implement Farm Management Plans, and Health and Environment Management Plans.
  • Leading farm operational activities including sheep husbandry, pasture management, and the maintenance of farm equipment and irrigation infrastructure.
  • Developing and managing budgets for farm activities and contributing to financial planning process to support sustainable and cost-effective operations.

About you

We’re looking for people who have the following or enthusiasm to learn:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in agriculture, especially sheep husbandry, pasture care, and farm equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing farm operational activities in accordance with management plans to achieve sustainable outcomes and meet compliance obligations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills in a practical, collaborative work environment
  • Ability to contribute to budgeting and relevant administrative duties
  • Great communication skills and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Computer skills, good record-keeping, and a commitment to safe work practices.
