Boil Water Advisory – Frequently Asked Questions

Bring water to a full rolling boil until a continuous and rapid stream of air-bubbles is produced in your pan or kettle. After boiling, allow the water to cool.
Water should be boiled even if you have a home filter or fridge or jug with a filter.

Boiled water can be stored in a clean, closed container at room temperature for 24-hours. But make sure it’s out of direct sunlight.
If you’re storing boiled water in a sealed container in the fridge, it can be safely kept for three days.

While a Boil Water Advisory is in place, it’s still safe to bath, shower or wash your face.
But be careful not to swallow the water, or get it in your eyes or nose.
Remember to keep an eye on small children or people with a disability.
