Procurement Officer (Parental Leave Coverage)
We are seeking a motivated and professional Procurement Officer to join our Corporate Services team in a fixed-term parental leave coverage opportunity through to 31 December 2027.

About the role:
The Procurement Officer is the primary point of contact for procurement across Lower Murray Water and provides professional advice, support and leadership to employees, managers and executives to strengthen procurement capability across the organisation. This position is a Limited Tenure opportunity providing parental leave coverage through to 31 December 2027.
The role is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of Lower Murray Water’s procurement framework, ensuring compliance with Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies, Victorian Construction Policy requirements and other relevant legislative, regulatory and statutory obligations.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the Procurement Officer delivers strategic procurement advice, contract management support, reporting, governance and process improvement initiatives to ensure procurement activities are conducted in a compliant, efficient and value-focused manner during the period of parental leave coverage
What You Will Be Doing
The Procurement Officer is responsible for:
- Lead the uplift of procurement capability and processes across Lower Murray Water.
- Develop, review and maintain procurement policies, procedures, guidelines and governance documentation.
- Monitor procurement compliance against Victorian Government Purchasing Board and Victorian Construction Policy requirements.
- Provide procurement and contract management advice to employees and leaders across the organisation.
- Coordinate and support tendering, contract administration and supplier engagement activities.
- Deliver procurement training and capability-building initiatives to increase organisational knowledge and compliance.
- Prepare procurement reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About you:
We are looking for someone who brings procurement expertise, strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes.
You may have:
- Experience in procurement and contract management, ideally within government or a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of Victorian Government procurement legislation, frameworks and policies or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
- Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes and contract documentation.
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
- Experience developing governance documentation, policies and administrative systems.
