About the role
As a civil Maintenance Operator, you will be supporting onsite operations through a variety of general labouring tasks, including trenching, spotting, backfilling, site clean-up, and assisting operators. You’ll work collaboratively as part of a crew to meet daily production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance with site procedures, SWMS, and design requirements. You’ll work alongside experienced team members to construct and maintain civil assets across LMW’s irrigation, drainage, potable water, and sewer systems.
Key responsibilities
- Completing risk assessments and safe work method statements for tasks and assist in the development of safe work instructions for designated tasks.
- Delivering safe, compliant civil maintenance works.
- Reporting of hazards, risks and incident in the specified time frames.
- Planning and assisting with programmed and reactive maintenance, repair and replacement
- Using and maintaining tools, equipment and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition in accordance with recommended practices.
- Ensuring plant and equipment checklists are completed and problems reported to the leadership team.
- Ensuing compliance with maintenance programs and appropriate resources are used to ensure the best outcomes regarding safety, cost and efficiency.
- Participating in the on-call roster and perform weekend and/or shift work when required to meet organisational requirements.
- Complying with all applicable occupational and safety (OH&S) laws, regulations and policies, as well as environmental protection laws and policies.
About you
We’re looking for people who have:
- Experience in civil maintenance or a willingness to learn
- A current driver’s license (MR/HR/HC is desirable)
- A focus on safety and working well in a team
- Reliability, adaptability and a proactive approach
- A valid OH&S Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Flexibility to join an on-call roster when required.
