Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. With over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, our vision is for a healthy, sustainable water future.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader – People to be based in Mildura, working in a dynamic, fast paced and inclusive environment.

About the role:

The Team Leader People will manage effective and efficient resourcing and support to the business ensuring the delivery of strategic human resource services to achieve a highly engaged, skilled and diverse workforce.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the People team towards the achievement of operational and strategic objectives
  • Developing and implementing strategies
  • Coordinating and supporting recruitment processes
  • Provide relevant and current industrial relations advice.
  • Diversity and inclusion strategies and initiatives
  • Performance management and review framework
  • Attraction and retention systems 
  • Workforce planning, succession planning, and career progression

About you:

We require a driven, passionate person who is looking for a challenge. To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Qualifications and experience in Human Resources, OHS Management or similar.
  • Highly organized with working experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary HR practices and prior experience managing and leading a team effectively
  • Hands on approach and solutions focused.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of strategies to support the achievement of a safe, diverse and high performing culture.
