Lower Murray Water will be undertaking essential water main replacement works on the eastern side of Jacaranda Street between Indi and Heytesbury Avenues and along the northern side of Heytesbury Avenue between Jacaranda and Guava Streets.

Works will be undertaken during the months of July and August 2024, commencing Monday 8 July 2024.

The current water main, originally laid in 1936, is now reaching the end of its serviceable life. Taking proactive measures to replace it is vital in order to reduce the risk of more frequent unplanned disruptions due to leaks and bursts.

To facilitate this necessary work, there will be the need for some lane closures and staged restrictions to parking in the immediate area. However, please rest assured that access to businesses in the affected areas will be maintained. Footpaths will remain open, except for short periods when specific localised tapping operations will be carried out.

For more information, please contact Michael Hura on 0436 387 106.

The current water main, laid in 1936, has reached the end of its serviceable life. Replacing it now will prevent unplanned leaks and bursts, ensuring a reliable water supply.

The works will be conducted during July and August 2024. Our tentative start date is Monday 8 July 2024 and works will take approximately 8 weeks. We will strive to complete the works as quickly as possible while ensuring works are carried out to a high standard.

Yes, early in the works the eastern parking lane of Jacaranda Street will be temporarily closed, and staged parking restrictions along the eastern kerb commencing at Indi Avenue will occur during this stage of the works. Foot access to businesses will remain open.

When the Heytesbury Avenue stage commences, the northern lane of Heytesbury Avenue will be temporarily closed, and staged parking restrictions along the northern kerb commencing at Jacaranda Street will occur during this stage of the works. Foot access to businesses will remain open.

There may be short interruptions in water supply during disinfection of the new main and tapping of feed lines to businesses. These disruptions should not be excessive, and customers will be notified prior to any planned interruptions.

We value your input. Our team will be reaching out to affected businesses and residents to gather feedback and tailor our approach to minimise disruptions.
