About the role
As the Treatment Plant Operator, you will provide essential water and wastewater treatment to the community. Your primary tasks include carrying out plant checks and performing tests and process improvements, while forming part of an on-call roster.
We have 2 positions available: 1 Full Time Ongoing and 1 Full Time Limited Tenure (3 Months)
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out all duties and activities in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner by adhering to LMW’s policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and operating water and wastewater treatment plants, including trouble shooting treatment plant issues.
- Ensuring water treatment plants are operated within water quality parameters and wastewater plants are operated in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
- Performing Water and Wastewater treatment plant checks and maintenance activities, including but not limited to lab testing, responding to SCADA alarms, analysing trends, and optimising chemical dosing.
About you:
We’re looking for people who have the following:
- Practical skill set and/or critical mindset to improve treatment processes
- Willingness to learn through on-the-job training and formal training
- Basic computer software skills (MS Office)
- Ability to work as part of a team and form part of an afterhours ‘on-call roster’
- Understanding of how you work in a safe and effective manner
- Current drivers’ licence
- Must have the right to work in Australia
