Mildura – Full Time ongoing – Band 2 (From $72,720)

Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. With over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, our vision is for a healthy, sustainable water future.

About the role:

This is a practical leadership role within our Civil Maintenance team and supervises the safe construction and maintenance of civil assets across LMW’s irrigation, drainage, potable water and sewer systems. Reporting directly to the Team Leader Civil Maintenance, this role leads by example to continue to drive a safety first, customer focused culture within the team and as part of the strategic focus for LMW.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Efficient and reliable construction and maintenance of civil maintenance assets including potable water, sewer, irrigation and drainage infrastructure
• Contribute to a safety-first culture
• Maintain tools, equipment, and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition
• Day to day planning and supervision of staff and contractors, contributing to a positive team culture
• Always represent LMW professionally
• Being flexible with availability and hours, overtime and out-of-hours work will be required, as will forming part of an on-call roster.

About you:

• Safety first approach to all works
• Experience in either water industry, civil or general construction,
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team with a can-do attitude
