Treatment & Maintenance Operator – Kerang (12-month Limited Tenure)
We are seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented Treatment and Maintenance Operator who has a practical mindset, to operate and maintain our assets in Kerang and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Murray Water (LMW) is a large regional organisation servicing diverse communities across the region, stretching from Kerang to the South Australian border. As an LMW Treatment and Maintenance Operator, your primary objective is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of LMW’s water, wastewater, irrigation and drainage assets. Based in Kerang and servicing the surrounding sites, you will work as part of a passionate and experienced team. Duties include carrying out routine checks and testing on a range of plant operations, repairs/maintenance of water, sewerage and irrigation assets while constantly working to improve equipment or processes and troubleshooting onsite to resolve issues.
No water industry experience is necessary! We will provide on-the-job training and experience with industry specific Certificate III training. Our team is made up of people from all different experiences and backgrounds, so you simply need to be willing to learn. About the role:
As an LMW Treatment and Maintenance Operator, your primary objective is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of LMW’s water, and wastewater assets. Based in Kerang and servicing the Koondrook and Murrabit sites, you will work as part of a passionate and experienced team. Duties include carrying out routine checks and testing on a range of plant operations, repairs/maintenance of water, and sewerage assets while constantly working to improve equipment or processes and troubleshooting onsite to resolve issues.

Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Engaging contribution to a safety-first culture
- Contribution to a positive team culture
- Operation, Maintenance and Repair of the water and wastewater treatment and reticulation networks including pump stations to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Be available and participate in the on-call roster and perform weekend and/or shift work when required to meet organisational requirements.
- Assist in the quarterly meter change over program.
- Flexibility with availability as overtime and out-of-hours work will be required at times.
