Revenue Officer – Collections – Limited Tenure Contract.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue team in our Mildura office as Revenue Officer – Collections. In this role, you will provide exceptional support and service to LMW’s customers, striving to achieve high standards of service for both internal and external customers. Your efforts will ensure the Corporation meets its regulatory requirements and accountabilities.
Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a large regional organisation servicing diverse communities across the region, stretching from Kerang to the South Australian border. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue team in our Mildura office as Revenue Officer – Collections. In this role, you will provide exceptional support and service to LMW’s customers, striving to achieve high standards of service for both internal and external customers. Your efforts will ensure the Corporation meets its regulatory requirements and accountabilities.
This is a part time position working 30 hours per week on a limited term contract until 30 June 2026.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager – Customer Services, you will play an essential part in the effective and efficient delivery of important revenue functions.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Implement LMW’s Billing, Refund and Recovery Policy with a focus on recovery of outstanding debt.
- Support customers experiencing hardship in accordance with LMW’s Hardship Program.
- Ensure adherence to ESC’s Guaranteed Service Level, in particular the reasonable endeavours checklist.
- Support customers to manage their accounts effectively. i.e. setting up payment arrangements, referrals to assistance programs
- Actively monitor LMW’s debtors to ensure collections targets are met and results are effective.
- Report on debtor functions as required.
- Ensure adherence to LMW’s Policies, Procedures and Customer Charter(s) to ensure compliance with obligations.
- Ensure adherence to ESC Customer Code’s to ensure compliance with obligations.
About you:
You have a background in financial services, legal assistance or complex customer services in a fast-paced environment and the ability to interpret data and legislation. To be successful in this role, you will possess or demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a service driven environment.
- An understanding of debt recovery, debt management and hardship processes.
- Working knowledge and experience in revenue IT systems.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Sound communication skills with the ability to produce concise documents with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, solution and results focused, self-directed.
- Ability to operate as part of a team and effectively contribute to the team’s objectives and strategies.
- Capacity to impart your skills and knowledge to others.
- Understanding of how you work in a safe and effective manner
- Current drivers’ licence
