Join us for the 2020 Growers’ Conference

Lower Murray Water (LMW) rural customers and stakeholders are invited to attend the 2020 Growers’ Conference on Tuesday 20 October, to be hosted via Zoom Webinar.

LMW Managing Director Anthony Couroupis said the annual Growers’ Conference was an initiative of LMW’s rural customer advisory committees to provide networking and information sharing opportunities for customers.

“The Growers’ Conference is an opportunity for local growers to hear directly from policymakers and industry representatives and allow for information sharing to guide decision-making relevant to their irrigation businesses,” Mr Couroupis said.

“The third annual event will be hosted online in a shorter format to previous years, to ensure we continue to provide these opportunities for our customers and stakeholders, in line with the current restrictions.

“Guest speakers will include representatives from the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, the Northern Victoria Resource Manager, water market consultants Aither and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

“This year offers more flexibility for people to attend particular sessions if they can’t attend the whole conference and I encourage all rural customers to take the opportunity to provide valuable insights to government and policymakers on local issues, topics and industry needs.”

Speakers will present on a range of topics including water markets, Victorian water policy, Murray River operations, seasonal determinations and outlooks, and seasonal and long-term water availability and demand. Questions for guest speakers can be submitted upon registration.

The 2020 Growers’ Conference is free to attend however spaces are limited and attendees must register at lmw.vic.gov.au/events.
