Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a large regional organisation servicing diverse communities across the region, stretching from Kerang to the South Australian border. A unique organisation, LMW operates both urban and rural water businesses which support domestic and commercial customers from households through to large-scale irrigation operations. As a leader within the region, LMW has established itself as a major contributor to enhancing regional prosperity, directly impacting social, environmental, and economic benefits.
We are seeking a Team Leader Corporate Services to guide our Corporate Services team, responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing operational policies, projects, and management practices related to governance, legislative compliance, stores, and procurement functions.
About the role:
Reporting directly to the Manager Corporate Services, this role will lead the Corporate Services team as an integral part of the uplift and enhancement to internal services within the organisation through the coordination and management of growing business service requests through providing advice to key stakeholders in relation to key areas of responsibility.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Legislative compliance, insurance and corporate reporting services: This position is responsible for the strategic and operational management of LMW’s legislative compliance, insurance and corporate planning and reporting functions of LMW according to regulatory and best practice standards of Victorian Government agencies. The Team Leader Corporate Services acts as the Freedom of Information Officer for the organisation.
- Procurement and stores: This position is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the procurement and stores functions, ensuring compliance with Victorian Buying for Victorian standards and continuous improvement.
About you:
This role requires excellent time management skills, the ability to set priorities, and proficiency in planning and organising both personal work and that of supporting staff. The aim is to achieve the Corporate Services Team’s objectives efficiently, utilising available resources within a set timetable. The candidate must be capable of gaining cooperation from key stakeholders in the administration of their areas of responsibility and in supervising the Corporate Services Team.
The role also necessitates effective liaison with counterparts in other organisations to discuss specialist issues with strong technical knowledge, as well as with internal staff to resolve intra-organisational problems related to legislation, insurance, and more. Good judgment, a focus on quality review, extensive problem-solving skills, and leadership attributes to support managing change across the organisation are essential.
