About the role:
The Leading Hand Mechanical and Civil Operations is a ‘hands-on’ leadership role within our Operations team and provides day to day direction and supervision of operations and maintenance across our water and wastewater infrastructure within the townships of Lake Boga, Swan Hill, Nyah, Nyah West, Woorinen, Piangil, Kerang, Koondrook and Murrabit localities.
This role will provide strong leadership and people management skills to support the achievement of operational and strategic outcomes through a positive team culture. Within the leadership team you’ll engage staff in our safety-first and customer focused culture, ensuring our assets are operated and maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient manner
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Efficient and reliable construction and maintenance of LMW assets including potable water, sewer, irrigation and drainage infrastructure
- Contribute to a safety-first culture
- Maintain tools, equipment, and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition
- Day to day planning and supervision of staff and contractors, contributing to a positive team culture
- Always represent LMW professionally
- Being flexible with availability and hours, overtime and out-of-hours work will be required, as will forming part of an on-call roster
About You:
We are looking for people who are passionate about LMW, will challenge the status quo in a productive manner and are willing to work collaboratively as a member of a team. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following:
- Experience leading people and managing in a diverse and collaborative operational environment.
- Safety first approach to all works.
- Proven experience in mechanical or civil operations, water industry experience is highly advantageous.
- Trenching and shoring certificate in line with Work Safe requirements is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team with a can-do attitude.
- Current drivers’ licence.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Victorian White Card.
- Willingness to work as part of an on-call roster which may involve out-of-hours work.
