We are looking for a dependable and team orientated person to join our Electrical Team in Mildura. This team is responsible for the efficient delivery of maintenance to our plant and equipment to support our customers and region to prosper.


Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. With over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, our vision is for a healthy, sustainable water future.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Electrical, this ‘hands on’ role will work within a team and support the safe maintenance and operation of assets across LMW’s irrigation, drainage, potable water and sewer systems. Prior water industry experience is preferred, however previous experience in similar industries will be considered.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to a safety-first culture.
  • Efficient and reliable electrical maintenance of assets including potable water, sewer, irrigation and drainage infrastructure.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and plant in a safe, clean and serviceable condition .
  • Always represent LMW professionally .
  • Being flexible with availability and hours, overtime and out-of-hours work will be required, as will forming part of an on-call roster.

About you:

We require a self-motivated person who is safety conscious looking to work in a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Electrical qualifications / Instrument and Control Certificates
  • Safety first approach to all works
  • Experience in either water industry, civil or general construction desirable, not essential
  • Good communication skills and leadership skills  
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a can-do attitude.
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Construction card
