The drawing of the names for the Ballot Order occurred yesterday by an independent Returning Officer for the new Stratgic Advisory Committee. The nominees and their ballot position can be found here. Lower Murray Water is very happy to see a field of 16 nominees for the 8 positions on the new committee.
Managing Director, Ron Leamon, has today advised that there has been a major increase in water usage in the urban areas serviced by Lower Murray Water.
 
“Compared to the same period last year within our Urban region there has been an increase of 2,539,670 kilolitres in water used by customers.”
Lower Murray Water Acting Chair Kay Martin today announced that significant progress has been achieved toward implementing new arrangements for irrigation customer representation in Sunraysia. See Media Release 
The Resource Manager for northern Victorian regulated water systems today announced that water held in spillable water accounts (SWAs) in the Murray system is now available for use or trade following the declaration of a low risk of spill. See Media Release
The Board today announced that we are seeking a higher level of strategic input from our irrigation customers. We will be commencing discussions with the irrigation community about the possibility of creating a new, single democratically elected committee who will have a role in providing direct input into the irrigation systems, pricing and service delivery for all of the Sunraysia pumped districts. Chair of Lower Murray Water (LMW), Leonie Burrows today advised of the release of the LMW Annual Report for 2011/12Media Release.
Water Minister Peter Walsh has announced the appointment of two new Directors to the board of Lower Murray Water. Media release. 
LMW in conjunction with BPAY have now drawn two winners in the first of two draws for the $1000 cash. Customers who register for BPAY View and nominate to receive their water bill electronically automatically go into the draw for $1000 cash. Thurla Farms receives State recognition for innovation in water use. The Rural Water Innovation Awards held in Melbourne saw Thurla Farms take out the award for 'Outstanding Excellence in Innovation".
